Blessings for YOU Ezine

This Weeks Quotations

Man has falsely identified himself with the pseudo-soul or ego. When he transfers his sense of identity to his true being, the immortal Soul, he discovers that all pain is unreal. He no longer can even imagine the state of suffering. - Pramahansa Yogananda

Time is an invention. Now is reality. So much creativity is happening for the simple reason that we have withdrawn ourselves from past and future. Our whole energy remains blocked either in the past or in the future. When you withdraw all your energy from past and future a tremendous explosion happens. That explosion is creativity. - Osho on Creativity

The past is dead. The future is imaginary. Happiness can only be in the Eternal Now Moment.

This Weeks Blessing

The Blessing a Calling

In Corrogue I am called.

I am called to be a storyteller. This is a storyteller with vision. This vision I craft each day. Each day it is hard won between the lines of an empty page. Each day it is won from the beauty of no thing. This is the call of ‘I am.’

This ‘I am’ is the essence of who we each are. It is the real life beyond the sense of separateness that we each feel in this world of time. It is the call of the wild co-creation that each of us is and is forever.

The greatest call is simple to be. In being, one knows that the sense of separation from all that is is an illusion. In being, one knows that the essence of the Self beyond the illusion of 'little me' is Love. To be is to overcome the greatest illusion of all. This is the illusion of death.

What if you could know this beyond it simply being a nice idea? What if you could be the knowing of this forever? Would that not be some invitation? Would you not be interested in answering this call? This is the real invitation of being in the body within the illusion of time. This is the real invitation of being in form. This is the real invitation for you to realize right now that you are the formless, deathless one.

To hear this call you have to be unhappy with the limitation of being a body that is born and dies in time. To hear the call you have to be ever present to this moment. You have to learn to return to feeling your enoughness and to feeling your essence. Most people want to know how to be happy. It is a right enshrined in some laws.

Real happiness is found in paying honor to Universal Laws. The first law is that you are one. If this is not known then you will constantly seek for happiness in a form beyond essence. You might find it in work, in a relationship, in money and success. Only these will go. In time all will go except who you are. The only thing left will be real. All unreality will go.

Unhappiness is of the ego. Happiness might arrive for a time but it too will pass. Your core essence is beauty and joy. It is creative beyond measure. It is beyond words. When you identify yourself with the body alone you are destined to suffer and be unhappy. The identification with the body creates the illusion of separateness from the one and all. The identity with the body alone creates the illusion that there is a ‘me’ and a ‘mine.’ This identification with the illusory self is the primary disease and the primary source of suffering.

The core question to answer when living in the body in this world of time and space is“Who am I.” This question is the greatest call to adventure you can ever live. If you feel that you live separately in a body within the confines of time and space you will always be afraid. You will be afraid of time itself because a time will come when the body dies. Then you think you cease to exist. Your belief will at that stage not help because you think this is the end of the believer. This idea of separateness is the collective belief that we as a species adhere to and buy into.

In this world of doing you are called to be somebody. You are called to attain. You are called to be successful. Only the happiest people who have lived all through time are nobodies. This invitation to be a nobody special is paradoxically the greatest of invitations. It is the invitation to be the free flowing spirit that you are rather than the illusion that you think you are caught in time and space. It is the invitation to move away from living a life of quiet desperation. This is the quiet life of desperation until the one day comes that always comes. This is the day when you return to the formless awaiting re-creation in form.

People ask, “How can this be done?” This is the wrong question. The real question is “Who is the doer?” This is a simple question but it is similar to asking children, “How do you play like you do.” Simply by asking them you will make them self-conscious. Ego has jumped in. Now there is separation. Where before there was the oneness of play now there is the play and the one who does the playing. The one who does the play is not needed. It is better that they get out of the way. The experience does not need the one who is experiencing to add to the experience. Before there was delight and now there is ‘my delight.’ With my delight there is anxiety that it will go.

If you ask children how they play you will move them from the free flow of energy in the body to thinking about what they are doing. Essentially they are doing no thing. They are simply engaged in being. They are the play of creation. When the ego jumps in the play is no more. Play is simply a feeling of at-one-ment and that is why it looks so much fun. It is that much fun! When you become the player, tension enters. The disease of ego has entered. You, the ego, the sense of separateness, are the one who keeps you out of the heaven of being.

The ego hates the idea that it might be shown up as the source of all suffering. “Who little me?” it asks. It hates the idea that all its lovely sense of self is of little or no value. It thinks it can make a life in the illusion of time and space and become something and someone special. It is a parasite on the real life. The ego has no life of its own. Everything it is is borrowed from the real life and the real life of love. When ego is love is not.

This is why mystics look crazy. All this burden of the illusory ego has been dropped. Life for them is child’s play. This is what the mystic Jesus invited when he said, “Except that you become as little children you shall not enter the Kingdom.”

The call is to be everything and nothing. It is the call to disappear and allow what is to be what it is and always is. It is the call to surrender to the illusion of separateness from love. It is the call to drop the idea that you are loving and enter the knowing that you in reality are this love and have never been separate from this love. The idea of ego is the primary reason for the suffering in this world of time. It is this illusory connection to the idea of being in a body that is separate from all that is. When the ego is surrendered nothing is given up except unreality. You lose the prison in which all that is beautiful, all that is joyous is locked up in. Then you forget that the key is on the inside and that the door is never locked. This is our collective amnesia.

To answer the call is no easy option. Many are called but few are chosen. We are all chosen but the ego will fight to sustain its sense of separateness. This call and this surrender is the meaning of the crucifixion. It is not hanging out the body to die but the hanging out the ego to die so that which is the real SELF, the Buddha nature, Christ consciousness can be rise from the dead self of ego.

We can spend all our time in this world saving our sense of ‘little me.’ This sense of separateness will remain with you beyond the life of the body until you transcend it. This is how it will be until you realize the reality of being all one which is the real meaning of being alone because all one is the only reality there is. You enter a paradox. You become all and nothing. This paradox blows the rational mind into a state of no mind. This does not mean you are out of your mind, only that there is no sense of separation from all that is.

The call is to individuation. But it is not the narcissistic individualistic sense of ‘little me’ with all its personal concerns about ‘my life.’ True individuation is realizing and seeing beyond the illusion of separateness. It is when you stop speaking as a child (apologies to all children) and grow up and speak as a man or woman the words that invite the knowing of who you are.

This is the call of story. This is the way of real storytelling. This is the call of the Anam cara and of soul friendship. This is the call to say that if you really want to get a life, drop the idea that it is 'your' life. Let it go and let it be. This is the greatest way to do anything in the world of time that will not end up taking you further into illusion. Wake up from the dream of separateness that most of us live on this amazing day when children are still playing for no reason – no reason at all. Wake up and feel the bliss of at-one-ment. Is that not a call worth hearing? Is that not the Blessing that you already are and are forever? Is that not enough?
