Come Away Human Child
In earlier times in Ireland people feared that the
faires would steal the newborn child of the house. In its place
they would leave another who was old and silent. This was known
as the changling. In old Ireland there are recognised ways of
getting rid of the changling. These required great imagination..
Sometimes they work but mostly they do not. Will the human child
be returned or is it lost forever?
Includes references to W.B. Yeat`s poem "The
Stolen Child"

Come away, human child
To the water and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand
Aspects of Storytelling
The
teller cares and invites others to care.
Listening
to both words and voice, we respond not just with waking
logic but with the rest of the mind and the heart as well.
