The Winged Horse

A child develops a special relationship with a winged horse. This makes the advisors to the King jealous. She is forced to reveal the secret of the horses name and it is taken away. The child never forgets the horse. Later she searches for it. What will she find? Will she find it at all? What will happen if she does?

Based on the poem entitled "Pegasus" by Patrick Kavanagh

Introduced with the song "Ride on" by Jimmy McCarthy

Ride on, see you
I could never go with you
no matter how I wanted to.

Aspects of Storytelling

"Hear and attend and listen; for this befell and behappened and became and was, O my Best Beloved, when the Tame animals were wild."

- Rudyard Kipling

Stories in themselves have a special power. They compel us to "hear and attend and listen" in a way that other forms of speech do not. Public speakers, from pulpit to politics, know how an anecdote can make an audience`s ears perk up.
